Bio: Franca Ferrari-Bridgers, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of communication at Queensborough Community College, CUNY. She was born in Milan, Italy. She holds a Master’s degree in Hispano-American languages and literatures (1995) from the Università Statale, Milan, Italy, and a Master’s degree in linguistics (1998) from the Freie Universitaet, Berlin, Germany. In 1998 she moved to the Unites States, and in 2005 she received a Ph.D. in theoretical linguistics from New York University. In 2016 she completed a Master’s degree in experimental psychology at Brooklyn College, CUNY. Dr. Ferrari-Bridgers’ research interests are in the field of linguistics, psycholinguistics, listening assessments, pedagogical research in high impact practices, and higher education in prison.
