RYAN McKINNEY is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts & Director of the Theatre Arts Program for the City University of New York at Kingsborough Community College. He has previously served on the faculties of San Diego State University, Pace University, Marymount Manhattan College, Five Towns College, Emerson College and Western Connecticut State University. In addition to his work as an educator, he maintains a career as an actor, director and theatre manager, having worked on productions at Manhattan Theatre Club, The Vineyard Theatre, Moonlight Amphitheatre, Queens Theatre in the Park, Harbor Lights Theatre Company, The Garden Theatre, Little Theatre on the Square and on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. He holds an MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University, an MA in Theatre from Hunter College, and a BA in Theatre & International Studies from Fairfield University. Ryan served as Chair of Musical Theatre for Region 1 of KCACTF for eight years, is a 2016 recipient of the Kennedy Center Gold Medallion and the 2013-2014 co-recipient of the ATHE/KCACTF Region1 Prize for Innovative Teaching.
